Alpha Knife Supply White TiMascus 2011 Trigger Medium (White Shockwave)
Timascus was first released in 2002. The goal was to create material that had the aesthetics of damascus steel without the downsides of weight and corrosion.
Timascus is made by stacking layers of titanium and zirconium and forge welding into a billet. The billet is manipulated to create intricate patterns. Timascus is known for having excellent forge weld bond strength and does not delaminate like imitation material.
Since 2010, every piece of Timascus has been hand forged by Jon Walker at Alpha Knife Supply. Jon is a marine veteran who started forging in 2005. He is known for making unique and precise patterns in both Timascus and damascus steel. Pin stripe is a good example of his precision forging. It takes extreme control to forge weld layers together and keep them straight with no distortion.
The two types of Timascus are White and Black. White Timascus contains multiple alloys of titanium. Black Timascus contains both titanium and zirconium. When heated or anodized, the titanium alloys change colors at different rates so you see contrasting colors. Zirconium can achieve a black or dark gray color. Every piece of Timascus is unique. No two pieces will have identical patterns.
Timascus billets are CNC machined into triggers. The triggers are machined to Modern Warriors specifications. All the triggers have a consistent, precise fit.
